Role of Radiation Treatment for Testis Cancer
Radiotherapy offers a curative treatment for seminoma of the testis presenting with limited nodal metastatic disease (Stage IIA).
Indications
Radiotherapy offers highly effective adjuvant therapy for men with Stage I seminoma that elect to not participate in surveillance protocols. Patients with newly diagnosed testis tumours should be evaluated in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Benefits
Radiation is very effective as adjuvant therapy for stage I disease and as a curative therapy for limited volume metastatic disease.
