Quality Standards

qualitystandards.jpgMeeting expectations, or delivering high quality work, is of critical importance in a radiation medicine program. Infrastructure Quality Assurance work ensure that the equipment, software, and processes operate in a safe, reproducible and consistent way, ensuring that all of the infrastructure is ready to welcome patient work, and that error pathways are identified and remedied upstream. The infrastructure can therefore address patient-specific issues in a robust and safe manner. Any expectations for outcome are established using specified and tested thechniques. To permit safe customization, a program of quality assurance has been established to guaruntee that each patient's treatment strikes a critical balance between tailored treatment and consistency of practice.

Many of the staff of the RMP participate in national and international organizations charged with the establishment and advancement of standards. Quality conformance is measured against these international standards with an aim to exceed expectations.
