Obtaining a Consultation
 

It is important for us to see your patients in an appropriate time frame and we understand that consultations can be routine, urgent or emergency. The procedure varies depending on the nature of the consultation.

Routine Consultations

The consultation request should be faxed to:

16-2900 from Toronto General Hospital (TGH) or Toronto Western Hospital (TWH)

The appointment given will be within two weeks of receiving the request.

Urgent Consultations for Palliative Radiotherapy, or for Cancers with an Unknown Primary

Requests for consultations should be directed to:

A response can be expected within 24 hours, and the patient will receive an appointment within four working days. Arrangements can be made for you to speak to the appropriate radiation oncologist.

Other Urgent Consultations

For other urgent consultations or for advice, please contact the respective radiation oncology Site Group leader. If you are using email, please contact the secretary and physician simultaneously for faster service.

Emergency and After-Hours Consultations

Direct your requests to the radiation oncology resident or staff physician on-call through the PMH switchboard at 416-946-2000.
