Role of Radiation Treatment for Glioblastoma Multiforme
Radiation therapy is the major post-operative treatment for patients with Glioblastoma multiforme. It is used to treat the residual tumour and adjacent normal brain infiltrated by tumour cells.
Indications
Radiation is routinely recommended in most patients.
Benefits
Post-operative radiation therapy significantly prolongs survival in this disease.
How to Make a Referral
Patients may be referred to one of the radiation oncologists in the Site Group either through the departmental referral process or by contacting one of the physicians directly.
